For a very special treat, join the interpretive guided walks into the Honey Creek State Natural Area. During cooler months, offered every Saturday morning at 9:00 am, and most Sunday mornings at 9:00 am, weather permitting. During the hot summer months, walks may begin at 8:30 am. Please check the full calendar here for updated information. The walks begin at the Rust House inside the Park (you can get directions at the Park entrance station).
The walk is a two mile, two-and-a-half hours interpretive walk through the various ecosystems of the Natural Area–from the live oak savanna by the Rust House to the riparian gallery in the Honey Creek canyon. Experienced guides and Master Naturalists will lead the walks, providing insights into the cultural history, the flora, fauna, and physical environments of the State Natural Area.
Bring water, appropriate clothing for the season, sturdy shoes, and a curious mind. No dogs, please.
For photos of the Creek itself, please see the Honey Creek gallery.
