Homeschool Class: Ancient Spear Throwing *Registration Required* Classes are FULL
November 9, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Experience Guadalupe River State Park as an outdoor classroom in this program for school-age kids!
Guadalupe River State Park’s homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades 1-5. Classes are usually held on the second full week of the month (September through April), and you can choose between Thursday at 9am or Friday at 9am. We will cover a different topic every month, so don’t miss out!
November’s topic is ancient spear throwing! Before the bow and arrow, Native Americans hunted with the atlatl and dart. Students will learn the history of this ancient hunting tool and try it for themselves!
Registration: Program is limited to 25 students. To register, please email Ranger Jessica at jessica.bergner@tpwd.texas.gov; make sure to include which date you are interested in.
Please register only if you are sure your child can attend. If your plans change, email to cancel so that another child can have that spot.
Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water. *Closed-toe shoes are a must*
Meet: Meet at the Prairie Trail trailhead. Headquarters staff will direct you where to park when you check in.
Fees: None. Entry fees will be waived under an educational waiver for the student and their parent or guardian.
If ADA assistance is required, please inform park headquarters (830) 438-2656 ahead of time.
**Park programs are subject to change/cancellation in the event of inclement weather**
