“Great American Eclipse” Tabling at the Total Solar Eclipse

April 8 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Join park rangers for information and activities before the celestial show begins!

Do you know why total solar eclipses happen? How do they affect wildlife? Are you prepared to safely view the solar eclipse? Do you have an interest in working with NASA?

Come find out the answers to these questions and how you can participate in a community science project before the main event! We will have an information table set up in the overflow parking lot (look for the green canopy) before, during, and after the solar eclipse. There will also be an opportunity to make a pinhole viewer should you want to observe the action through one. Additional activities for kids will be available.

To participate in the Eclipse Soundscapes community science project, please visit Observer Page – Eclipse Soundscapes to learn more about the project itself and how you can be prepared to participate on eclipse day!

Where: Overflow day use parking lot
Bring: Your family, water, and eclipse glasses
We will have a limited supply of ISO-certified solar eclipse glasses for sale at Headquarters ($3.19 with tax per pair).
You won’t be able to enter the park on eclipse day without a pre-purchased day pass or camping permit; a state park pass does not guarantee your entry.

If ADA assistance is required, please inform park headquarters (830) 438-2656 ahead of time.

**Park programs are subject to change/cancellation in the event of inclement weather**
