Learn how to cast a fishing pole, identify common fish species of Texas, and understand fishing regulations.
This is not an actual fishing event, but it is a great way to get better at casting a fishing pole, identify common fish species of Texas, and understand fishing regulations. After practicing, check out a loaner pole from the Discovery Center (between 10am and 4pm) to do some real fishing–B.Y.O.B. (bring your own bait)!
All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Where: Kayak launch area in day-use
Bring: Your family, drinking water, and sun protection
Cost: Free with park admission; Adults: $7, Children 12 & under: Free
