9:00 am First Day Hikes or Runs – Self-Guided
January 1, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Start 2022 off right — outdoors!
Join thousands of people across the country in the tradition of getting outside on the 1st of the year!
Guadalupe River State Park has over 13 miles of trails for you to explore. So bring your dog, your human family, or just yourself and get outdoors!
When you arrive at the park:
Check in with us at the table right next to the Day Use restrooms (in the big parking lot by the river), and we’ll give you some suggestions and sample hike or run itineraries! We’ll have suggestions for all ages, skills and abilities.
After you hit the trail:
Check back in with us to report your miles, and you’ll get a First Day Hike sticker! We will be at the table from 9 am to 4 pm.
Note: In order to protect the trails and prevent erosion, most of our trails will close if conditions are wet and muddy. If this is the case for New Year’s Day, we’ll still have our table set up with suggestions for other activities you can do at the park! Check our Facebook or Instagram page for trail updates, or call the Park Office at (830) 438-2656.
Important! To guarantee park entrance, we strongly suggest that you reserve your park Day Pass ahead of time. You can do this up to 30 days in advance with your credit card, or for free with your Annual Texas State Park Pass
