7:30 pm Star Party with San Antonio Astronomical Association
October 16, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Join us for Stargazing!
Join us for stargazing! Members of the San Antonio Astronomical Association will be on site with their telescopes to point out the constellations, planets and more!
September’s Star Party will be extra exciting because both Saturn and Jupiter will be visible! Don’t miss it!
When: September Star Party will be between 7:30 -9:30 pm.
Time of each month’s star party varies based on sunset; we will update this posting each month with that month’s start and end time!
Where: This program will be held in the large overflow parking lot (just up the road from the big river parking lot). Look for the big blue “Stargazing tonight” sign on the park road just across from this lot.
Cost: This program is free with a valid park entrance permit — $7 per person ages 13 and up, kids 12 and under are free — or if you have an annual Texas State Parks Pass, the passholder and everyone in the vehicle with him/her get in free!
If you arrive after hours and do not have an existing Day Use reservation, please use the self-pay station in the parking lot of the park office to pay your entrance fee(s) in cash.
Other details: No need to register, just show up! Please note that the front entrance gate closes to incoming visitors at 10 pm. After the event is over, you will be able to leave the park, just approach the entrance gate slowly, and it will open automatically for you to leave the park.
Cancellation due to weather: If we have to cancel the program due to cloud cover, we will update here by 2 pm the day of the event.
