The Friends of Guadalupe River and Honey Creek provide financial support for a number of projects and programs in the Park and Natural Area. If you have a special program or project you wish to support, or wish to donate in honor of an individual, please indicate such on the donation payment page, in the space provided under “Write a note (Optional).”
Among the various projects and programs that the Friends support are the following:
- Maintenance of the Bird Blind by the Discovery Center, including the purchase of bird seed
- Construction of a second Bird Blind
- Bird scale for bird banding
- Binoculars for the Bird Blind
- Construction of Park benches
- Hand-held radios for Park staff and volunteers
- Supplies for the Discovery Center
- Skulls and skins for the Discovery Center
- Archery equipment for “Archery in the Park” events
- Supplies for youth hunts
- Plants for the Habiscape next to the Discovery Center
- Repairs and maintenance of the Rust House
- GoPro camera for interpretive presentations
- Sponsored events such as Homesteaders Homecoming and special guest presentations
- Trail maintenance in the Park and in the Natural Area
