Birds of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area - checklist

Guadalupe River State Park provides ample opportunity for bird watching year-round, with 240 species of birds documented within Park lands.  It is also the breeding habitat for one of the most sought-after birds for birders wishing to add to their life-lists, the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler.  For more information regarding the Park birds, their favored habitats within the Park and their seasonal comings and goings, please click on the brochure to the right, which includes a checklist of all the bird species found here.  The brochure was created by our former Park Interpreter, Craig Hensley.
For photos of some of the birds, including the Golden-cheeked Warbler, that have been photographed in the Park, you may want to check out our Gallery on Birds of the Park.
In addition, the Park maintains a bird feeding/blind station near the Discovery Center, serviced mainly by Friends of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area.
