Trout Fishing Photo Contest!

Show off your best trout fishing photo for a chance to win a prize!

Are you ready to get your fish on? The Friends of Guadalupe River State Park/Honey Creek State Natural Area are sponsoring an online fishing photo contest!

The winner in each category will receive a $30 Texas State Parks gift card, plus eternal glory. 😊 There are 3 photo categories:

1.) Best young angler photo

2.) Best trout “catch” photo

3.) Best fishing “family/group” photo — for example, adult and kid, two kids together, adult and a dog (on a leash!), etc.

Here’s how to enter:

1.) Post your photos from the above categories on Facebook: www.facebook.com/guadaluperiverstatepark or Instagram: www.instagram.com/guadaluperiverstatepark . Tag the park @guadaluperiverstatepark and use the hashtag #grsptrout2021 . Make sure to note which category you are submitting each photo for! Only one entry category is allowed for each photo.

2.) Guadalupe River State Park will confirm each entry with a comment. If you have not received an entry confirmation comment within 2 days after tagging us, *please* send us a DM; sometimes hashtags get lost and we want to make sure we receive all your awesome photos!

3.) Photos must be taken between Thursday 1/7 and Monday 1/18. All photos must be submitted by Monday 1/18.

4.) Winners will be announced no later than Thursday 1/21.

Fine print:

By tagging #grsptrout2021 in your photos, you agree that Guadalupe River State Park, the Friends of Guadalupe River State Park/Honey Creek SNA, and/or Texas Parks and Wildlife Department may use your photo for promotional purposes. You may be asked to sign a photo release form.

Guadalupe River State Park staff and volunteers have the discretion to exclude photo entries that they deem inappropriate – for example, photos that depict unlawful or unethical practices, such as a “catch” photo showing an angler with more than their 5 trout per person per day bag limit.

No social media? No problem! 

Anyone wishing to enter the contest who does not wish to use social media may email their photo entries to holly.platz AT tpwd.texas.gov . In your entry please make sure to tell us which category you are submitting your photos for. As with social media, only one entry category is allowed for each photo. We will reply to each email entry to confirm submission.

Winners will be notified via social media or email (depending on the method of entry). Gift cards will be picked up at the park, or mailed to you.
