DESCRIPTION:The Fisheries Department is stocking more than 1\,000 Rainbow Trout at the park today! Bring your fishing pole and see if you can catch your daily limit (5 per person per day\, no length limit)! Rangers and volunteers will be down at the river from 9 am to 2 pm to help you with any fishing questions you might have. We will also have some bait and some loaner poles on hand. Recommended rig and bait: regular salmon eggs for bait\, small inline spinners\, baby rattle trap\, small baby spoons\, light (4-pound) test line\, and small hooks. All ages and skill levels welcome! Make sure you get your fish on this weekend\, because the park will be closed the following week until the next weekend!

All ages welcome! — Meet in front of the Discovery Center\n3:30 – 5:30 pm: Nature Hike at Honey Creek State Natural Area — Join us for an afternoon hike into the protected Honey Creek State Natural Area. Access to this area is limited to guided hikes only\, so you won’t want to miss it! We will hike to the pristine Honey Creek\, and along the way we’ll find out about some of the special natural and cultural history of the area. This easy to moderate hike is about 2 miles round-trip. Trail is mostly level\, with some rocky areas and one fairly steep hill. Cameras welcome! All ages welcome. No dogs\, please. Meet at the Rust House (inside the park)

DESCRIPTION:Overland Race Management is offering a trail run consisting of a half marathon or 7.1 miles. In the Park’s Bauer Unit a more remote system of trails that run along the shores of the Guadalupe River\, woodlands and prairie and consists of some of the most beautiful landscape in the Texas Hill Country. Park volunteers can run at half the registration fee. Print and mail registration with volunteer written across the form. Volunteers are needed to help with the race\, some to direct runners on the course and some to help man aid stations.
