DESCRIPTION:Come experience the trails at night! \nWhen you go out at night\, you’ll discover a whole new way to experience the outdoors!  Join us as we walk an easy trail (about 3/4 mile round-trip) and experience the night. We will look for wolf spiders with flashlights to see their eyeshine\, we’ll look for scorpions under black lights (they glow!)\, and we’ll generally just listen to night noises and take it all in. These programs are terrific for kids\, but fun for all ages! \nWhat to Bring: Wear close-toed shoes comfortable for walking (tennis shoes are great)\, and bring drinking water. You might wish to bring bug spray as well. Make sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp (these work better than cell phone flashlights). No dogs are allowed\, please. \nWhat to Wear: good walking shoes\, bring a flashlight (head light or flashlight works better than cell phone) and dress for the weather. \n  \nSpots are limited\, and registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Before the bow and arrow\, there was the atlatl and dart! \nDo you have what it takes to be a prehistoric hunter? Try your hand at the atlatl and see how hard it is to catch dinner! \nWho: All ages are welcome\, both adults and kids. This activity is best for adults and kids age 7 or older\, since the dart (spear) is long and can be difficult for younger kids. \nWhen: Drop in anytime between 9:30 and 10:30. \nWhere: This program is held at the Prairie Trail Parking Lot (Equestrian Parking lot). \nWhat to bring: Wear comfortable\, close-toed shoes and dress for the weather (hat is highly recommended!)\, and bring drinking water. \nDirections: As you enter the park\, pass the Park Office and take an immediate right. Drive down the gravel road about 1/4 mile\, to the end of the road. Park in this parking lot.  Note: If you are already in the park\, you will need to leave the park and make a u-turn by the park office\, as the road here is one-way each direction. Then follow the directions above. \nCost: Park programs are open to the public and included with valid park entrance: $7 per person ages 13 and up\, kids 12 and under are free! Entrance is free for Texas State Parks Annual passholders and anyone in the vehicle with him/her.

DESCRIPTION:Bring your dog\, your bike\, or yourself and join us in a 4th of July patriotic parade! \nWhat: Bring your decorated bike\, wagon\, or stroller and join us in a patriotic parade around the Cedar Sage campground loops! \nWho: Your friendly dog on leash\, your bike\, your kids in the stroller or wagon\, or yourself! All ages are welcome. Campers are encouraged to decorate their campsites and stand outside to cheer on those in the parade! \nWhen and where to meet: Please meet in front of the Cedar Sage restrooms at 9:45 am so that we can begin the parade at 10:00 am. Please decorate your bike/wagon/stroller before you come to the parade meeting spot. We will have a table set up with a limited number of decoration items available for you to use\, starting at 9:00 am. \nMore details: Make sure to dress for the weather\, with a hat\, and comfortable walking shoes! \nNote: Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance fee ($7 per person ages 13 and up; kids 12 and under are always free!).
