DESCRIPTION:Cast a line with us! \nThe Fisheries Department is stocking 2\,000 Rainbow Trout at the park! Bring your fishing pole and see if you can catch your daily limit (5 per person per day\, no length limit)! Rangers and volunteers will be at the river from 9 am to 2 pm to help you with any fishing questions you might have. We will also have a limited supply of loaner poles on hand. \nHeld at the River in the Day Use area —  look for the table at the bottom of the large stairs \nRecommended bait: Berkeley Power bait “mice tail” chartreuse ball with orange tail or live worms. \nRecommended rigs: circle hooks or salmon egg hooks\, small inline spinners\,  super duper spoons\, light (4-pound) test line. \nAll ages and skill levels welcome! \nAll programs are free with park admission of $7 for ages 13 and above (12 and under free) or a current TPWD park pass. So bring your dog\, your human family\, or just yourself and get outdoors! \nWhen you arrive at the park: \nCheck in with us at the table right next to the Day Use restrooms  (in the big parking lot by the river)\,  and we’ll give you some suggestions and sample hike or run itineraries! We’ll have suggestions for all ages\, skills and abilities. \nAfter you hit the trail: \nCheck back in with us to report your miles\, and you’ll get a First Day Hike sticker! We will be at the table from 9 am to 4 pm. \nNote: In order to protect the trails and prevent erosion\, most of our trails will close if conditions are wet and muddy. If this is the case for New Year’s Day\, we’ll still have our table set up with suggestions for other activities you can do at the park!
